Next Year, If All Goes Well, We Will Again Bring Such Buses With Subsidies: Gyumri Mayor on 3 New Buses
The microbuses purchased through a subsidy program were tested for the first time by Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan on the day of the city's celebration. In response to journalists' questions about their performance, the mayor stated, "They're very, very good; it's just a miracle."
The three small passenger buses are part of a pilot program in Gyumri. The cost of the currently implemented program, which acquired the three transportation vehicles, is approximately 43 million drams. The government funded 50 percent of the amount, while the local community covered the other half.
One of the buses is intended for guests visiting Gyumri. The other two are planned to be used as regular transportation within the city's route network.
"Now we will test them. We will see how they work; if everything goes well, next year we will again bring such buses through subsidies to finally address the issues of the city's route network," informed Samvel Balasanyan.
