One of the Service Members Injured Near the White House Has Died: Details

National Guard member, 20-year-old Sara Beckstrom, has died following injuries sustained in gunfire near the White House. This was announced by President Donald Trump. The other injured service member is 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe, who remains in critical condition.

It is recalled that the shooting occurred in downtown Washington yesterday from a short distance. The police have arrested the main suspect, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwali, originally from Afghanistan.

President Donald Trump officially announced the death of Sara Beckstrom on Thursday evening during a speech directed at U.S. military personnel. “She just passed away. She is no longer with us. Now she is looking down on us. Her parents are with her,” the president stated, adding that Sara Beckstrom had enlisted in 2023.
