What Changes Have Been Made Regarding Specializations and Admission Exams for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
The government has approved the list of specializations and admission exams for bachelor's and continuous and integrated education programs (full-time, part-time) for the 2026-2027 academic year at Armenian higher educational institutions. According to the justification, certain changes have been made to the draft compared to the list planned for the previous 2025-2026 academic year.
Specifically, in the admission exams for educational programs at Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, it has been determined that there will be a single exam for the following specializations in the bachelor’s part-time admission exams: 'Mathematics-Physics,' 'Mathematics-Computer Science,' 'Biology-Chemistry,' and 'Geography-Natural Sciences.' This change is based on the proposal from Khachatur Abovian State Pedagogical University, which states that the adjustment will contribute to the filling of its educational programs in 'Professional Pedagogy.'
Due to ongoing reforms in the general education sector and the introduction of a new qualification framework, as well as the demand for educators, dual-qualification education programs have been planned, with admissions for the 'Mathematics-Physics' and 'Biology-Chemistry' educational programs at Vanadzor H. Tumanyan State University.
The adoption of this decision will facilitate the admission process for higher educational institutions aimed at preparing specialists with higher education in sectors that are primary and essential for the development of the state and economy (such as information technology, information security, engineering, agriculture, data science, educational sciences, professional pedagogy, etc.).
