Tehran Claims Enemies Promised Its Territories to Northern Neighbors During War

The former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohsen Rezai, has stated that the mistake of the enemies during the 12-day war was assuming that Iran was alone. "The enemies even made territorial promises to some of their northern and southern neighbors, thinking that Iran was finished. However, their mistake was not recognizing the Iranian people and not understanding that the great country of Iran would not return to the situation of the last 300 years," Rezai said.

According to him, their philosophy of enmity is to obstruct Iran's progress, as they fear that a country with a rich history, if it advances, will hinder their dominance over the important and wealthy region of Western Asia.
