Major Fire in Dhaka Destroys Approximately 1500 Homes

A fire in the Korail neighborhood of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, has destroyed approximately 1500 homes within a few hours. No reports of casualties have been reported.

Officials stated that the rapid spread of the fire was facilitated by the narrow, densely built streets, the construction of houses from highly flammable materials, as well as the presence of electrical wires and gas cylinders in the area. It has been noted that such major fires have occurred in Korail, which has around 10,000 homes, in the past as well.
