ICRC Attempts to Restore Dialogue with Baku

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking ways to restore dialogue with Baku, said Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs in Armenia. She noted that the last meeting with individuals held in Baku took place in June.

Amatuni emphasized that the physical absence of ICRC representatives in Azerbaijan makes it impossible to monitor all humanitarian issues related to the conflict that the organization has been addressing. She also pointed out that the circumstances surrounding the cessation of ICRC operations in Azerbaijan are not disclosed, as much of the work is conducted in a confidential manner.
