Moscow Prepares to Welcome Witkoff Next Week
Moscow is preparing to welcome U.S. President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff next week. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, a detailed meeting is planned between Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the visit.
“Yes, we are expecting the visit and hope for detailed communications with the president,” Peskov confirmed in response to a question about Witkoff's arrival in Moscow.
According to Bloomberg, in October, Stephen Witkoff proposed developing a Russian-American program to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, similar to the program that was implemented in the Gaza Strip. The idea was reportedly voiced by the Russian president's aide Ushakov on October 14.
Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, later discussed the document, with Dmitriev suggesting an unofficial transfer of the Russian version to the non-American side. He labeled Bloomberg's report as “fake,” while Ushakov stated that there had been a “leak” and “wiretapping” of the negotiations, emphasizing that Russia is not involved.
