Insured Citizens to Undergo Mandatory Checkup Once a Year: Anahit Avanesyan

The Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, has announced via her social media page how insured individuals will benefit from their insurance. “First, let’s differentiate between two distinct cases. The first is urgent, immediate medical attention, which I will discuss later. Now let’s talk about cases where a person has specific complaints. How should they start their journey within the healthcare system? It’s important to note that their first contact should be with outpatient clinics and polyclinics. They need to consult with a family doctor, a therapist, or a pediatrician. After this initial stage, if the family doctor, therapist, or pediatrician identifies the need and makes a recommendation, they will then guide the patient towards further medical care. If additional examinations are necessary or if a referral for inpatient care is needed, this primary level will ensure that referrals are made for accessing subsequent medical services,” Avanesyan said.

According to the Minister, citizens included in the system will have the opportunity, and will also be required, to undergo mandatory checkups once a year and utilize screening programs. “In this case, you will receive a notification, register at a polyclinic, outpatient clinic, and undergo your necessary annual preventive medical services,” she added.
