I Do Not Comment and No One Should Comment. Ushakov
The assistant to the President of Russia, Yuri Ushakov, has announced that a preliminary agreement has been reached regarding the visit of the U.S. President's special representative, Steve Wietkof, which is scheduled to take place next week. He stated that communications between the two sides are ongoing, and work is underway to organize the visit.
Ushakov also addressed the "leaks" appearing in the media, which, according to him, allegedly represent the content of conversations with Wietkof. The Russian presidential assistant emphasized that the aim of these publications is to obstruct the process of improving Russian-American relations.
“It is unclear where the media receives information about the phone conversations between Moscow and Washington. Some leak something, some hear something, but not us,” said Ushakov.
He noted that phone conversations with Wietkof are quite frequent, but Russia does not disseminate the details of such secret conversations: “The essence of the discussions is confidential, and I do not comment. And no one should comment.”
