Arrests of Russians in France on Suspicion of Espionage and Propaganda
The French authorities have carried out multiple arrests in the investigation of the French-Russian association SOS Donbass. According to DW, one of the suspects, a 40-year-old Russian citizen named Vyacheslav P., is accused by the Paris prosecutor's office of posting pro-Russian banners on the Arc de Triomphe in September. His identity has been confirmed through recordings from local surveillance cameras.
Another suspect, Anna N., is accused of attempting to obtain sensitive information from French economic figures. The French Directorate General for Internal Security (DGSI) has been monitoring her since at least the beginning of the year, suspecting that she has carried out actions damaging to the fundamental interests of the country. In March, a criminal case was initiated against her on suspicion of espionage for a foreign state, and if the charges are confirmed, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
