Peace in Ukraine Will Not Be Established Overnight: Merz

The Chancellor of Germany, Merz, wrote on social media that Europe is currently at a turning point. He stated that Europeans support a ceasefire and a just peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, but this cannot be achieved overnight.

“We are committed to ensuring the security of Europe. Peace in Ukraine will not be established overnight. The joint peace plan is intended to start the process. But for this to happen, Russia must sit at the negotiating table now. Until there is visible readiness to do so, neither the process will take place nor peace,” he added.
