Next to Georgia, We Also See What Is Happening Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Rutte

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, in an interview with Radio Liberty, stated that the alliance is seriously concerned about the recent developments in Georgia. He emphasized that he is 'not naive' in assessing the situation and has clearly conveyed NATO's concerns to the Georgian leadership.

'We are very worried, and this has been stated openly to the Georgian side. We are cooperating with them, and I believe that this cooperation provides a channel through which we can express our concerns. We must view the situation in a broader regional context; next to Georgia, we also see what is happening between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The situation there has improved, including thanks to the efforts of President Trump. Therefore, I would like to consider Georgia in the broader context of the South Caucasus,' Rutte said.
