Four Wildfires Erupting Simultaneously in Dilijan Forests, Devastating Woodlands and Polluting Air, Says Garnik Danielyan
Fires are raging in the forests of Dilijan National Park. Four separate hotspots have ignited and are spreading simultaneously. This was reported by Garnik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Armenia group, on his Facebook page.
"Fires are reported in the 'Kazachi' area, near the village of Navur, in the forest adjacent to the Dilijan serpentine roads, and near the village of Dzorashen in Shirak Province. A large number of firefighters, patrol officers, and volunteers are involved in firefighting efforts. I want to express my gratitude to the firefighters for their selfless work. Unfortunately, the fire is spreading rapidly, and the firefighting operations have not yet yielded results. The causes of the outbreak are still unknown, and the possibility of it being intentional is also being discussed.
It should be noted that large-scale fires have been spreading in various regions of Armenia for a considerable time. Previously, there was also a fire in the Chambarak-Ttujur area. This is a disaster, an extremely dangerous trend, and relevant authorities must take effective steps to prevent it—from raising awareness among residents to conducting proper investigations. Otherwise, forests are being destroyed, air is being polluted, and tremendous damage is being inflicted on the ecosystem,” he wrote.
