Unregistered Equipment to be Dismantled, Says Tigran Avinyan

The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has addressed the issue of the installation of automatic devices such as coffee machines and payment terminals. "We can see all automatic devices, both registered and unregistered. Registered ones pay a fee to the municipality every month, while unregistered ones don’t, hence they are subject to dismantling," he stated.

Avinyan noted that there are still 1,043 unregistered devices left, and he has instructed discussions to be held to ascertain how many are willing to move into the legal framework. Unregistered devices that do not wish to become legal will ultimately be dismantled.

“Well, let’s say the year has ended. How much longer should we endure this? A final decision needs to be made. And what about those who are registered and responsibly paying? Are they guilty or punished? Why are we allowing this?” he added.

According to him, with the new system, all information regarding these devices is now visible and accessible. “I kindly ask you to update in the next 1-2 weeks to see if they want to keep the machines or be dismantled,” concluded Avinyan.
