Netanyahu Appeals to Iranian Citizens

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the citizens of Iran to rise up against their government, emphasizing that the Israeli government is not fighting against peaceful civilians.

“The time has come for you to unite around your flag and your historical heritage, defending your freedom from an evil and oppressive regime. It has never been weaker. This is your chance to stand up and make your voice heard,” Netanyahu stated.

He added that the peoples of Iran and Israel have been friends since the time of Cyrus the Great (559-530 BC), and that the Israel Defense Forces are currently not against the Iranian civilian population, but are instead fighting against the government of the country.
