Trump Accepts Xi Jinping's Invitation to Visit China in April
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he has accepted an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit China in April. “President Xi invited me to visit Beijing in April, and I have accepted that invitation,” Trump wrote on social media.
The American leader stated that he had a “very good” phone conversation with the Chinese leader. “We discussed many topics, including Ukraine, Russia, fentanyl, soybeans, and other agricultural products,” he noted.
According to Trump, during the conversation, both sides agreed to maintain regular bilateral communication. The president emphasized the importance of frequent interactions. He also reminded that this phone conversation was a continuation of their meeting three weeks ago in South Korea, after which he believes there has been noticeable progress in updating and clarifying bilateral agreements. Trump also mentioned that Xi Jinping intends to make a reciprocal state visit to the U.S.
