Real Madrid Forward Vinicius Junior States He Does Not Wish to Extend Contract

Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has clarified his stance regarding his future with Real Madrid. According to The Athletic, the Brazilian informed club president Florentino Perez at the end of last month that he does not wish to extend his contract while he has a strained relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso.

Vinicius spoke with Perez after El Clasico when he had reacted angrily to being substituted. Following that conversation, the Brazilian conveyed to the club president that, considering his relationship with the coach, he does not believe extending his contract is currently the best option.
