Nikita Simonian Wrote His Name in Golden Letters in the History of Armenian and Soviet Football: Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a telegram of condolence to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the passing of Nikita Simonian.
“Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,
It is with deep sorrow that I learned about the death of the legendary football player, esteemed coach, honored master of sports, and four-time champion of the USSR, Nikita Pavlovich Simonian. As a prominent player and coach, he wrote his name in golden letters in the history of Armenian and Soviet football. Under his leadership, Yerevan’s 'Ararat' became the champion in 1973 and 1975, and a double cup holder of the USSR, imparting an unforgettable sense of pride to all Armenians.
For his long and enriching career, Nikita Simonian also received state awards from the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation. His achievements, professionalism, and dedication to football will serve as a source of inspiration for numerous generations to come.
I ask you to convey words of condolence and support to the family and loved ones of Nikita Simonian on behalf of the Armenian people and personally from myself,” the telegram states.
