Zelensky Ready to Compromise on Territorial Issues: Rustem Umerov
Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated during a meeting with American officials in Florida that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to compromise on territorial issues, including conceding part of Donbas in exchange for a peace agreement, according to a report by The Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, as transmitted by RBC.
Ignatius cites sources familiar with the negotiations surrounding the U.S. 28-point peace plan. According to the interlocutors, Umerov also announced that Ukraine could agree to the limitation of the army size to 600,000 personnel as outlined in the plan. Furthermore, the WP reports that the U.S. is prepared to reconsider the point regarding the limitation on troop numbers, which has elicited strong reactions from Ukraine and European countries.
