Dozens of Gold Coins Stolen from Lausanne Museum
Swiss authorities are on the lookout for two individuals who assaulted a security staff member at the Lausanne Roman Museum, smashed a display case, and stole dozens of gold coins on display. According to Euronews, the perpetrators entered the museum by purchasing tickets and waited for other visitors to leave.
As reported by the Lausanne police, the attack was executed just before the museum was about to close. The stolen coins hold significant archaeological value.
The heist occurred at a time when gold prices are sharply rising on the global market. The police continue their search operations.
