Zelensky Is at a Dead End: A Ceasefire Could Lead to His Power Collapse – Oleg Ivannikov

In an interview with Readovka, Russian reserve lieutenant colonel Oleg Ivannikov stated that the Ukrainian leadership is in a difficult situation, noting that the cessation or continuation of military operations could lead to severe political repercussions.

Ivannikov emphasized that even possible progress in negotiations does not guarantee a quick stabilization. In his opinion, the country is facing infrastructural and social issues. He added that the restoration of public life after the war will require a long time.

The lieutenant colonel asserted that the European Union is trying to prolong the current situation, as it is concerned about the post-war developments in the region.

According to Oleg Ivannikov, the continuation or cessation of military operations could have serious consequences for Ukraine's political system. He pointed out that any choice made by the authorities could be accompanied by rapid changes both at the front and in the country’s internal affairs.
