Poland to Allocate $100 Million in Support of Ukraine, Foreign Ministry Says
Ofelya
Poland has announced it will allocate $100 million to facilitate the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. The funds are intended for the PURL program, which supports countries in financing Ukraine's urgent defensive needs.
Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated that this move is not a political gesture, but a genuine act of support. "We need to limit not the victim's ability to defend themselves, but the aggressor's ability to continue aggression," Sikorski said before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.
He also expressed intentions to propose to European partners the adoption of rules that would restrict Russians from benefiting from the advantages of the Schengen Area.
