EU Seeks to Erase Centuries-Old Friendship Between Russians and Armenians, Zakharova Says
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke about what she described as the West's "destructive" policies in the South Caucasus during a press briefing. According to her, the European Union is attempting to strengthen its influence in Armenia through "grants, political pressure, and information manipulation." Zakharova reiterated her accusations against the EU mission in Armenia.
“As you know, they have deployed an observational mission in Armenia, which is, in fact, an intelligence mission. They aim to destroy the centuries-old friendship between the Russian and Armenian peoples. And, of course, the paradoxical formula that the EU proposes to the countries of the South Caucasus,” she stated.
