Minor Tried to Kill Father Out of Revenge, Investigative Committee Reports

The investigation into a criminal case has been concluded by the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee regarding an incident where a minor attempted to kill his father. According to the Investigative Committee, the incident arose from familial conflicts and years of violence.

Investigative actions revealed that the minor, driven by a desire for revenge due to his father's repeated insults and previous violence towards his mother, attacked his sleeping father with a kitchen knife, inflicting more than ten stab wounds. The father awoke and managed to disarm his son, preventing the completion of the crime.

A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the minor under Article 44-155, Part 2, Point 9 of the RA Criminal Code, characterized by attempted murder of a close relative. House arrest has been imposed as a measure of restraint. The proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request for confirmation and referral to the court.
