Mishustin Spoke Fluent Armenian at Jazz Evening
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that during the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held from November 18-20 in Yerevan, the Prime Minister of Russia spent the evening in a jazz environment at the "Malkhas" jazz club. It was noted that traffic in the city center was paralyzed for several hours, as the visiting prime ministers were at the Malkhas club on Tumanyan Street with Prime Minister Pashinyan, causing the streets to be closed. However, we clarified that Nikol Pashinyan did not attend the jazz evening. Jazz musician Levon Malkhasyan confirmed this and stated that the prime ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus were present along with their entourages, including bodyguards, who settled on the second floor of the club, while the prime ministers occupied the first floor.
The evening took place in a rather intimate atmosphere. Mishustin, who has Armenian roots, spoke fluent Armenian with the jazz musician and later took a photo with him. Malkhas did not hide his surprise at the Russian prime minister’s command of the Armenian language. While performing, one of the guests joked, "Your border issues now depend on how Malkhas plays." Malkhas’s performance impressed the prime ministers. The excitement was so great that Mishustin remarked on the challenge of following such a maestro, but he expressed his desire to play as well. When we inquired about how the Russian prime minister performed, Malkhas said, "Quite successful." It turns out that the head of the Russian government, Mishustin, has authored songs for several well-known performers in the Russian pop music scene.
