Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia will soon implement mirror measures to lift visa requirements for Chinese citizens. “The decision of our Chinese friends to introduce a visa-free regime for Russian citizens will undoubtedly contribute to further strengthening the ties between our peoples. We appreciate this manifestation of goodwill. Our mirror measures will come into effect very soon for citizens of the People's Republic of China visiting Russia,” said Putin.

According to the Russian president, this will lead to very serious consequences in both economic and humanitarian areas. “In my opinion, this will be a positive 'blast' in the development of our relations,” Putin remarked.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the Chinese Foreign Ministry had previously stated that China would implement a one-year, 30-day trial visa-free regime for Russian citizens. This policy applies to those holding ordinary passports. The new policy pertains to Russian citizens planning to travel to China for tourism and business, as well as participating in various humanitarian exchanges, visiting relatives, or for transit purposes.
