Great Britain is closely monitoring the situation between the Armenian government and the Armenian Apostolic Church

During a session of the British Parliament, Scottish MP Brendan O'Hara posed a question to Minister of State for European and North American Affairs, Stephen Doughty, regarding the actions taken by the Armenian government against the Armenian Apostolic Church.

“I would like to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs what discussions he has had with his international partners regarding the actions taken by the Armenian government against the Armenian Apostolic Church, and what diplomatic steps are being undertaken,” O'Hara inquired.

It is worth recalling that earlier we reported the Secretary’s response, in which he specifically noted: “Great Britain is monitoring the situation between the Armenian government and the Armenian Apostolic Church. We expect that all actions will conform to Armenia's constitutional and legal frameworks, allowing for due process and ensuring that all individuals are equal before the law, while judicial processes remain transparent and impartial. The government of Great Britain remains firmly committed to promoting and protecting the right to freedom of religion or belief around the world,” he stated.
