Completion of Preliminary Investigation on Former Deputy Police Chief in March 1 Case to Be Announced Soon

The Anti-Corruption Committee is set to announce the completion of the preliminary investigation into former Deputy Police Chief Sasha Afyan's case in the near future.

Arthur Nahapetyan, the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, stated that Afyan has been charged with overstepping his official authority on March 1, 2008, and organizing violent actions to disperse a peaceful sit-in at Liberty Square with the involvement of other police subdivisions.

It is worth noting that a public discussion regarding the March 1 case is currently taking place in Parliament following the ECHR ruling. Opposition members are not participating in the discussion.
