Iran Ready to Resume Nuclear Negotiations with the West, But on Their Terms: Araqchi

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has asserted that Iran has no secret nuclear facilities and that all of the country's nuclear sites are under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

“Due to the airstrikes by Israel and the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the country is no longer enriching uranium. However, this does not mean that we will abandon our civil nuclear program and our right to enrich uranium,” Araqchi was quoted by the IRNA news agency.

According to him, Tehran is ready to resume nuclear negotiations with the West, but only on the basis of mutual respect and without pressure.

Data from the IAEA indicates that prior to the war with Israel, Iran had more than 400 kg of uranium enriched up to 60 percent. Iran is the only country in the world that does not possess a nuclear bomb yet has such a high level of enriched uranium. Enrichment to 90 percent or more is necessary for the development of nuclear weapons. Tehran has denied any ambitions to develop nuclear weapons.
