CEC Issues Statement

The CEC urges citizens eligible to vote in the Vagarshapat community to contact the authorized body, the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, if they discover any discrepancies in the electoral rolls.

"Our partners at the Ministry of Internal Affairs are providing services today not only in territorial offices but also in mobile service units," the commission reports.

It is noteworthy that today, on November 16, snap elections for the council are taking place in the consolidated community of Vagarshapat based on proportional representation.

Eight political forces are participating in the elections: seven parties and one party alliance:

  • "Victory" Party Alliance
  • "All-Armenian Front" Party
  • "Republic" Party
  • "Mother Armenia" National-Democratic Party
  • "Free Democrats" Party
  • "Heritage" Party
  • "My Step" Party
  • "Homeland" Party

The total number of voters as of November 7 is 69,866. There are 47 polling stations, with 23 located in the city of Ejmiadzin and the remaining 18 in villages.

As of 11:00 AM, 7.56% of eligible voters, or 5,283 voters, have participated in the voting.
