Zelensky on Putin's Timeline for the Capture of Pokrovsk
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with defense and security officials. According to the head of state, Russia has not adhered to the timeline set by President Vladimir Putin for the capture of Pokrovsk and Kupyansk.
“Kyrylo Budanov (Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate - UNIAN) reported on the situation in threatening areas of the front, Russia's military preparedness, and the expected timelines set by the occupier. Now, Russia has missed another deadline set by Putin for the capture of Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, and the deadlines have been postponed once again,” Zelensky noted on his Telegram channel.
At the same time, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleg Ivashchenko, presented the president with the current political and economic situation in Russia, as well as the sentiments among the Russian public and Putin's inner circle. Zelensky assured that appropriate conclusions have been drawn.
“We have determined the main directions of our defense efforts in the coming weeks and will also expand our defense measures program for the winter months. We will continue to carry out our long-term sanctions; special services, primarily the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian army have corresponding tasks. We plan to coordinate our actions with the key partners in diplomatic efforts, considering the updates to the assessment of the situation. We are preparing measures that can ensure diplomatic activity. Thank you to everyone who defends Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader concluded.
