Hungary Transfers 1.5 Million Euros Intended for Ukraine to Lebanon: Szijjártó
Hungary will redirect 1.5 million euros, originally intended for Ukraine, to Lebanon for assistance. This was announced by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó on his social media account.
Szijjártó attached a photo with Lebanon's Foreign Minister Youssef Rachid to his post.
"We will not use our share from the European Peace Fund to arm Ukraine. Instead, we will direct 1.5 million euros to support the Lebanese Armed Forces," wrote Szijjártó.
According to the post, Szijjártó informed the Lebanese Foreign Minister that peace in the Middle East aligns with Hungary’s national security interests, and Lebanon's stability is the key to achieving that.
