First Case of H5N5 Bird Flu Registered in the U.S.

A resident of Washington has been infected with the H5N5 strain of bird flu, marking the first recorded case of this type of illness in the United States, according to the state’s Department of Health. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the department, this strain has previously been identified in animals, but it has never been detected in humans until now.
