Two Scenarios Regarding the 'Trump Path': Nikol Pashinyan

Armenia and the United States have begun the process of creating a joint legal entity. This announcement was made today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a conference on regional cooperation, referring to the 'Trump Path' project.

Pashinyan noted that the 'Trump Path' program will have several phases, including railways and pipelines, which may include oil and gas pipelines. According to the Prime Minister, Armenia is discussing two scenarios regarding land development rights with the United States concerning the 'Trump Path' for either 49 or 99 years.

"The terms are related to investment and profitability. The investor must have guarantees for profitability from their investments. If we say we will lease that land for 5 years, then no one will invest, because it is unrealistic to recover that investment in 5 years," emphasized the Prime Minister.

He also stressed that he does not see any political component in these discussions; they are purely financial and economic in nature.
