No Small or Large Corruption. Police Respond to Elinar Vardanyan

The police have addressed the article by former MP and member of the "Alternative Projects" group, Elinar Vardanyan, in which she questioned whether the police have any work to do, as they seem to address crime and corruption found in every village, school, and kindergarten.

The police's clarification is presented in full below.

“Former MP Elinar Vardanyan made a post today that is circulating on social networks. The essence of the post is the accusation against the police that, leaving behind significant corruption risks, they focus on trivial cases.

First, there is no small or large corruption; moreover, the phenomenon becomes even more dangerous when thieves steal from schools. Stealing from today’s students means robbing the future society. Second, if the so-called "concerned status writer" took the trouble to follow the news flow or at least check the police website, they would be aware of both significant anti-corruption breakthroughs and millions of dram returned to the public that had been stolen in that manner.

The latest example is a significant corruption case uncovered today by the police’s Main Directorate for the Fight Against Organized Crime.

We advise individuals to express their concerns impartially and honestly, and to make statements only when fully informed of the facts, thus avoiding the temptation to write merely sensational comments.”
