Validity of Temporary Protection Certificates to be Automatically Extended
The Migration and Citizenship Service has announced that, by the government decision 1649-N dated October 17, 2024, the validity of temporary protection certificates will be automatically extended. The extension of the deadlines will take place immediately after the adoption of the relevant government decision, without the need for additional actions from the beneficiaries.
At the same time, it is emphasized that the presence of a temporary protection certificate is not mandatory when crossing the state border, and the entry process is not dependent on its availability.
According to the service, if an individual has changed their passport (due to loss, expiration, or damage) after receiving the temporary protection certificate, they must reapply for a new temporary protection certificate, as it is issued solely based on a valid and current passport.
