The U.S. Has Little Opportunity for New Sanctions Against Russia, Rubio Says
The United States has already utilized most of its sanctioning tools against Russia, resulting in a current lack of significant measures to impose additional restrictions. This was stated by Senator Marco Rubio while discussing the ongoing pressures on the Russian economy.
According to Rubio, the U.S. has long imposed sanctions on Russia's largest oil and gas companies, which means that 'serious new targets effectively do not remain.' He emphasized that restrictions in the energy sector are considered the most sensitive, and most of them are already in effect.
Furthermore, Rubio noted that the fight against Russia's 'shadow fleet' must primarily be conducted by Europe, as it is directly related to European ports and insurance markets.
