Armenia's External Debt Increased Due to Arms Purchases
One of the reasons for the increase in Armenia's external debt is the purchase of weapons. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech on the budget draft in the National Assembly.
“They tell us that the external debt has reached 8 billion, and they ask what we have done with that money. I didn’t want to say this, but I will: we bought weapons. We bought weapons. Did we buy them with debt? Yes, we bought weapons with debt. Why? Because it was urgently needed and had to be done immediately,” said Pashinyan.
He also reminded that people can refer to the appropriate email and go see those weapons. He emphasized that they can compare the weapons bought in the past with those acquired during his administration.
