Special Mortgage Loan Program Planned for Police Officers: Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a legislative initiative that will allow police officers to benefit from affordable state mortgage loan programs.

As Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan stated during a news broadcast, the program will enable police officers to purchase or construct a home under preferential conditions. Support will be provided in the form of compensation for down payments and repayment of interest rates.

The program will be available to all police officers, with certain priorities based on location, service area, and social status. According to Mkrtchyan, the issue has been particularly observed in the Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions, where police officers are often assigned outside their hometowns to avoid conflicts of interest and corruption risks. This support will improve the living conditions of service members and increase work efficiency.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also implementing a series of measures to make serving in the police attractive and to staff the system with professional personnel.
