Stoltenberg on the Possibility of a Third World War
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that the alliance will not initiate a third world war with Russia as a result of the Ukraine war. He made this remark in an interview with The Sunday Times.
According to Stoltenberg, NATO's policy towards Ukraine is correct; the alliance provides support to Kyiv but refrains from sending troops or engaging in direct military confrontation with Russia. He emphasized that such an action would lead to unacceptable global consequences.
The former Secretary General also addressed the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, calling it NATO's biggest defeat. At the same time, Stoltenberg added that this decision was the right one for the alliance in the long term.
