Azerbaijan Accuses Macron of Attempting to Escalate Tensions in the Caucasus
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's statements made at the summit of the European Political Community in London, accusing him of creating tensions in the South Caucasus and obstructing the peace process between Baku and Yerevan.
“Unfortunately, President Emmanuel Macron’s statements at the European Political Community summit, which justify Armenia’s militarization policy and clearly demonstrate a biased stance against Azerbaijan, serve as yet another vivid example of France's attempts to create tension and hinder peace in the region,” stated Azerbaijani MFA spokesperson Aykan Hacizade, with the text of his statement published on the MFA's website.
