What Decision Did the Court Make Regarding Vahan Kerobyan?
The former Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, will not be taken into custody. The Anti-Corruption Court rejected the motion presented by the Investigative Committee to detain him.
“I am doing fine; the Anti-Corruption Court rejected the motions to detain not just me but seemingly also all the other defendants in the case that has been under investigation for five years and is related to events from more than ten years ago,” wrote Kerobyan, adding that he does not accept the charges.
It is noteworthy that Vahan Kerobyan was arrested the day before. According to the Investigative Committee, the criminal case pertains to the embezzlement of approximately 73.8 hectares of land belonging to the Yerevan community during the years 2008-2014 and large-scale money laundering. A total of 9 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
