Pashinyan Concealed New Proposed Document on Artsakh Issue in 2019, Says Serge Sargsyan

Former Armenian President Serge Sargsyan stated during the "Imnmenmin" podcast that he became acquainted with a new document proposed by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group around 8-9 months ago. According to him, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has concealed this document from the Armenian people.

Sargsyan asserted that the Armenian government kept the existence of the document secret from the public and the leadership of Artsakh. He noted that from 2019 to 2020, information regarding the document was periodically received, yet official sources denied the existence of such a document.

“At that time, I informed the leadership of Artsakh that such a document exists and urged them to meet with the Armenian leadership to demand to see it. However, the representatives of Artsakh were surprised and stated that they had not heard about it,” Sargsyan remarked.

He further indicated that the existence of the document was later confirmed by the Russian Foreign Ministry. In his assessment, even based on that variant, it would have been possible to achieve conflict resolution through compromises if the correct negotiation policy had been pursued.
