Papoyan on the Injustice of David Hambardzumyan's Trial

The defense attorney of Masis's detained mayor, David Hambardzumyan, Gayane Papoyan, has responded to Judge Zhora Chichoyan's statement, in which the judge claimed that the case was examined without any instructions and while maintaining objectivity.

"Z. Chichoyan, please do not attempt to create a false illusion of justice being served; it would be better to refrain from discussing this topic altogether. The court ruling has no connection to reality, and you know that very well. The video of the case, which everyone has seen, clearly demonstrates the situation and the lack of objectivity in the ruling. Additionally, there were corroborating testimonies from witnesses in the case," stated Papoyan.

She pointed out that the judicial ruling lacks justification and analysis concerning the video, the severe penalties imposed for the article in the last 15 years, and the application of detention. According to the lawyer, this is not merely an impression but a substantiated reality that David Hambardzumyan was targeted for removal from political processes. "David is a political prisoner," wrote Papoyan.
