Macron Threatened Aliyev During 44-Day War, Bayramov Reveals Details
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, has stated that during the 44-day war, there was political and diplomatic pressure from several countries, including France, on Azerbaijan. According to him, these pressures intensified against the backdrop of military successes and sometimes turned into threats.
Bayramov mentioned that French President Emmanuel Macron made several phone calls to Baku, demanding an immediate halt to military operations. He stated that Macron indicated that if Azerbaijan did not cease its actions, France could recognize Nagorno-Karabakh.
The minister noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev responded immediately, emphasizing that such a move would not change Baku's position, and if France proceeded with this recognition, Azerbaijan would sever diplomatic relations with Paris.
