Trump to Use Tomahawk Missile Supply as a Negotiation Tool, Expert Says

U.S. President Donald Trump is attempting to maintain the possibility of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, using it as a lever in negotiations with Russia. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by Mustafa Metin Kaşlılar, Vice President of the Center for Turkish Foreign Policy Studies (TUDPAM).

It is worth noting that the Pentagon has approved the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine, stating that this will not harm the U.S. arsenal. The final decision on the supply must be made by the president.

According to Kaşlılar, Washington views this issue not as a military, but as a political step aimed at increasing pressure on Moscow and keeping it as a tool to be used in the negotiation domain. At the same time, he noted that Tomahawk missiles could not significantly change the situation on the battlefield.
