The Armenian Community of Georgia Demands Cancellation of Baku's Organized Concert
The Armenian community in Georgia has issued a statement condemning a concert organized by the Azerbaijani embassy in Tbilisi, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the "Victory Day" of the 44-day war. The community has labeled the event as unacceptable and is calling on Georgian authorities to cancel it.
"We appeal to the Ministry of Culture of Georgia to take into consideration the fact that on November 6, the Azerbaijani embassy is organizing a concert titled '5th Anniversary of Victory Day - November 8.' The event is scheduled to be held at the Shota Rustaveli State Academic Theater in Tbilisi, which has historical ties to Armenian cultural figures, such as Isaak Pitoev and Alexander Mantashov," the statement reads.
"The Ministry of Culture of Georgia should express a clear position and prevent the conduct of such events in state cultural institutions that contradict the principles of humanism and human dignity," the statement emphasizes.
