If It Is Revealed That Tigran's Mother Knew About Her Husband's Behavior and Stayed Silent, the Children Will Not Be Returned to Her: Head of the HOH

The head of the HOH, Mira Antonian, stated that it still needs to be evaluated whether the reunification of the children with their mother would be appropriate in light of their interests. According to her, if it turns out that the mother was aware of her husband's behavior and remained silent, this could serve as grounds for the children not being returned to her.

“If we are dealing with a mother who has been unable to protect her children not only from her husband but also from other dangers, it is not right for the children to return. However, if it turns out that the mother has also been a victim of violence, that circumstance should not be a reason for the children to be deprived of family,” Antonian noted in an interview with Aysor.am.

Ms. Antonian also emphasized that Tigran's death should serve as a signal for society to prevent such cases. She stated that there are opportunities in Armenia that can contribute to children growing up in a safe environment. “Every family can contribute. If there are families willing to take care of any child, the state pays them 135,000 drams per month. Currently, we have 140 families caring for 192 children. We need more families,” concluded Mira Antonian, head of the HOH.
