Araghchi: We Have Been Assured That There Is No Threat to Iran from the Zangezur Road

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that any changes to the borders and geopolitics of the region are unacceptable and that security is best ensured through regional cooperation, including within the framework of the "3+3" format.

"We do not accept any changes to the borders or geopolitics of the region and believe that the best way to ensure regional security is through regional cooperation, which is embodied in our concept of the '3+3' format. We are in direct communication regarding the Zangezur issue and have been assured that there will be no threat to Iran. Of course, we are monitoring the situation," said the Iranian Foreign Minister.

According to him, the 'Zangezur corridor' does not pose a direct threat to Iran, and Tehran is directly engaged in this matter. Araghchi emphasized that negotiations remain the primary tool for achieving national interests and ensuring security, and that Iran must be prepared for any challenges, including military ones. He noted that the country is not dependent on either the East or the West, relying instead on its own people and continuing its strategic partnership with China and Russia.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also discussed Iran's position regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). "The US has withdrawn from the agreement and re-imposed sanctions, while Iran continues to defend its nuclear rights, including uranium enrichment," Araghchi said. He added that Iran's commitment encourages regional countries to cooperate, and its decision to remain in the JCPOA remains in effect.
