US Considers Closing Airspace
Ofelya
The U.S. Transportation Secretary, Shawn Daft, has announced that authorities may fully close the country's airspace if the ongoing shutdown poses a risk to flight safety. The Secretary stated that such a measure would be taken only if it is assessed that air traffic is no longer safe.
“If it turns out that we cannot ensure the safety of flights, we will close the entire airspace,” said Daft.
It is worth noting that due to the shutdown, the operations of several federal agencies have been partially suspended, which is also impacting the aviation management sector. Various measures are currently being discussed to reduce disruptions and maintain safety levels.
